Polled bulls carry the gene that prevents horns from growing. A heterozygous bull (Pp) passes the trait to about half of the calves out of horned cows; a homozygous bull (PP) to all of them.

Less dehorning means less work, lower costs and better animal welfare. The data comes from ANAPRI; for some foreign bulls it is derived from the code in the bull’s name, as shown on the bull page.
